The County of Sacramento Board of Supervisors, at its March 24 meeting, unanimously approved renaming the County holiday observed on March 31. Formerly recognized as Cesar E. Chavez Day, the holiday will now be known as “Sacramento County Farm Workers Appreciation Day.”

In Sacramento County 270,000 people rely on those food benefits to feed themselves and their family. Thousands of children will be affected by the loss of food benefits in November.
Stolen Unvoted Ballots Recovered and Re-issued

Yesterday, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office informed the Sacramento County Department of Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) that during a homeless encampment clean-up off Mayhew Road and Elder Creek Road, they discovered 99 stolen unvoted ballots for the Statewide Special Election.
