SacCounty Awarded With WIC Breastfeeding Award

The Sacramento County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program has been recognized with the 2024 WIC Breastfeeding Award of Excellence Program Premiere Award ​by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services. The award highlights the County’s exceptional commitment to promoting and supporting breastfeeding among WIC participants.

The award, which is valid for four years, celebrates the Sacramento County WIC Program's excellent breastfeeding support and collaboration through its Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program. This recognition places the Sacramento County WIC Program among an elite group of agencies dedicated to improving maternal and infant health outcomes through breastfeeding support.
