Sacramento County Public Health (SCPH) has launched a new online Epidemiology Dashboard Portal, giving residents, community organizations, journalists and decision-makers direct access to local public health data in one centralized location. The new portal, hosted through BeHealthySacramento.org, features interactive dashboards allowing users to explore health trends across Sacramento County in real time.
“Public health data should be accessible and useful to the people we serve,” said Sacramento County Public Health Officer, Dr. Olivia Kasirye. “These dashboards give people faster access to important health information, so they can better understand what is happening in their communities and make informed decisions.”
The Epidemiology Dashboard Portal replaces many traditional static reports and fact sheets with interactive tools that allow users to filter and explore data by categories such as time period, ZIP code, age, sex, and race or ethnicity, depending on data availability.
Users no longer need to wait for manual data requests or rely on reports tied to fixed reporting periods.
The portal brings together dashboards covering a wide range of public health topics, including infectious diseases, maternal and child health, chronic conditions, injury prevention and community safety. Each dashboard includes technical notes and definitions to help users interpret the information accurately.
SCPH developed the dashboards as part of Sacramento County’s broader effort to modernize public health data systems and improve access to timely information for both internal and external partners. County staff, healthcare providers, community-based organizations and journalists can use the dashboards to identify trends, guide programs, support grant applications and better understand local health needs. The effort is also
centered on creating greater transparency and equity by making the same public health information available to everyone at the same time.
SCPH plans to continue expanding the portal as additional data and dashboards become available.
Residents and partners are encouraged to explore the Be Healthy Sacramento Epidemiology Dashboards.
