New Hope Road Bridge To Close April 10, 2026

The Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SacDOT) is replacing the New Hope Road Bridge at Grizzly Slough. The project is expected to last until December 2026. The construction will demolish and replace New Hope Road Bridge which will include grading and paving of approach roadways approximately 400’ on either side of New Hope Road Bridge. The construction will also provide rock slope protection along with embankment and shoulder grading.

Traffic will be directed to use alternate routes during the closure period.

Access will be maintained for local traffic only.

New Hope Road will close from Orr Road to W. New Hope Road between April 10, 2026, and Nov. 30, 2026. Access will be maintained for residents during construction.

The reconstruction cost for New Hope Road bridge is $4,536,070. and is funded by the Federal Highway Bridge Program (HBP) and Sacramento County Road Fund.

Travelers are asked to follow all posted signs during the detour. SacDOT appreciates the public’s patience as we work to complete this important project.

Detour:

Eastbound Detour: North on N. Thornton Road to Franklin Boulevard. East on Twin Cities Road. South on Christensen Road. West on New Hope Road.

Westbound Detour: North on Christensen Road. West on Twin Cities Road. South on Franklin Boulevard to N. Thorton Road. East on New Hope Road
