Due to the forecast of heavy winds and rain this week the County, in partnership with First Step Communities, is activating its weather respite Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. through Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Warren E Thorton Youth Center (WETYC). Staff will continue to monitor the weather for needed extensions.
Anyone interested in using a respite center should call 2-1-1 to check capacity before traveling to the respite shelter.

- When: 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12 until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025
- This site is 18+ years only
- Pets are welcome (1 per person or 2 percouple); however, pets must be crated at all times inside the shelter and leashed outside around the site. Crates/leashes & dog/cat food provided
- Resources available:
- Meals (snacks, water, lunch and dinner)
- Cots for sleeping
- Showers & Restrooms
- Phone and other electronic charging
- Light Case Management
