The Sacramento County Department of Regional Parks will close Discovery Park beginning Sunday, Feb. 4 ahead of anticipated flooding to the park caused by rising Sacramento River levels. Discovery Park will remain closed until further notice.

Located in a historic floodplain, Discovery Park is designed to flood when river levels rise.

Sacramento County Regional Parks staff will be monitoring the river elevations throughout the weekend, and closure notices will be updated as necessary.

Bicycle commuters and park visitors should use caution as conditions will change throughout the next few days as the storm passes through the valley and surrounding mountains.
