Sacramento County is proud to recognize one of its own, LeRoid David, Senior Office Assistant with the Public Administrator/Guardian/Conservator’s Office, whose artwork was selected as the Official FIFA World Cup 26™ San Francisco Bay Area Host City Poster. His design was chosen by FIFA and the Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) as part of a global campaign to showcase local artists across 16 Host Cities for the 2026 tournament.
David is a second-generation Filipino American and Bay Area native now living in Sacramento.
“It still feels like a dream, me winning this and getting to share my art on this scale,” said David. “I share this with my family, my community and the people I work with here at Sacramento County.”
His bold, layered design features the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges emerging from coastal fog, representing connection, culture and the spirit of the Bay Area. At its heart is Levi’s Stadium, where six FIFA matches will be held, surrounded by vibrant patterns that reflect the region’s rich diversity.
David’s talent has reached a global scale, but his day-to-day work is rooted in a very different kind of service. He works for the Public Administrator/Guardian/Conservator’s Office under the Department of Child, Family and Adult Services (DCFAS) supporting some of the most vulnerable adults and seniors in our community, many of whom are facing severe mental illness or are without next of kin.
“Some people think of it as just paperwork, but it’s meaningful work,” David explained. “Our team works tirelessly. These are heartbreaking, deeply personal cases, and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this work.”
He has worked his way up from Office Assistant II to Senior Office Assistant since joining the County over five years ago. This is his first role in the public sector after spending many years in hospitality management and retail.
“I’ve always been a community-oriented person, even before public service, and I’m incredibly proud to be part of a team making a real impact,” said David. “And working for the County has also given me the stability and balance to create art on the weekends. That means the world to me.”
One recent afternoon, David’s supervisor and office mates hinted at special guests visiting the office. Soon after, County Executive David Villanueva and Deputy County Executive Chevon Kothari surprised him in person.
“It was wild,” David recalled with a laugh. “Everyone knew but me. People came out of their cubicles cheering. It was such an incredible moment of support and pride.”
David remains deeply grounded in his community despite the international spotlight.
“Sacramento has always been a second home,” said David. “I had family here while growing up in the Bay and would visit often. Now I get to live here, raise my kids here and serve this community. I love it here.”
The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors honored David at today’s public meeting with a formal resolution in recognition of this remarkable achievement.
“We aren’t just 9-to-5 workers here at the County,” said David. “We’re parents, artists, volunteers, people with lives who care about this community. I take a lot of pride in working for Sacramento County.”
