While fireworks and holiday events are great for humans, the loud noises can be frightening for pets who may flee or run away. In order to quickly reunite scared, stray animals with their owners, Sacramento County’s Bradshaw Animal Shelter is waiving owner redemption fees through July 15, 2024, except for animals in any ongoing investigation, and confiscated or quarantined animals.

In addition, the animal shelter is offering waived adoption fees for long-term pets who have been at the shelter for 30 days or more. The shelter also offers veterans with eligible identification waived adoption fees for all dogs and cats. Visit the shelter to adopt or claim a lost pet at 3839 Bradshaw Road between noon and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and between noon and 6 p.m. Wednesday.

To view a list of lost pets at the shelter or to view a list of adoptable pets, visit Bradshaw Animal Shelter.
