County Activates Weather Respite for Rain

Due to the forecast of rain, the County, in partnership with First Step Communities, is activating its weather respite today, Friday, April 10, beginning at 2 p.m. through Monday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at the North A Shelter. Staff will continue to monitor the weather for needed extensions.

Anyone interested in using a respite center should call 2-1-1 to check capacity before traveling to the respite shelter.

North A Street Shelter, 1400 N A Street

  • Opens Friday, April 10, at 2 p.m. through Monday, April 13 at 10 a.m.
  • Capacity is limited to 25 guests and three pets at the shelter; pets must be crated at all times and leashed outside. Crates/leashes and dog/cat food are provided.
  • Guests will receive a light breakfast, a bagged lunch and a warm dinner
