On June 3, 2025, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved grant funding for 72 nonprofit arts and culture organizations through the 2025–2027 Cultural Arts Awards Program (CAA Program). Administered in partnership with the City of Sacramento, this vital investment expands public access to arts and cultural experiences throughout Sacramento County.
Originally launched by Sacramento County in 1974, the CAA Program has a long-standing legacy of supporting the region’s creative sector. In collaboration with the City of Sacramento, the program continues to preserve and uplift the County’s rich cultural heritage while encouraging community engagement through the arts.
“Funds generated through the County’s Transient Occupancy Tax allow us to reinvest in our region’s vibrant cultural ecosystem,” says Chair of the Board and First District Supervisor Phil Serna. “These grants support nonprofits that not only inspire and educate, but also contribute to Sacramento’s identity as a dynamic, creative destination.”
The grant application period opened in October 2024, and applications were reviewed by a diverse panel of arts professionals and community members based on cultural relevance, commitment to diversity and equity, community engagement and fiscal responsibility.
The 72 grant recipients represent a dynamic cross-section of Sacramento County’s creative landscape, representing both established cultural institutions and emerging arts organizations. View the full list of grantees on the City of Sacramento’s website.
