Capital Region Small Business Awards: Nominate a Changemaker in Business & Register

Sacramento County’s Office of Economic Development (OED) is proud to take part in the 2026 Capital Region Small Business Awards. The luncheon event and expo will bring together entrepreneurs, business leaders and community partners for networking, recognition and resource-sharing.

Sacramento County OED is seeking nominations for its Changemaker in Business Award, which will be presented as part of the event program to recognize an exemplary business in the unincorporated County.

Changemaker in Business Award Nominations Open Until April 3:

  • Complete a nomination form.
  • Or email a nomination to hernandezl@saccounty.gov and include the business name and address
  • Eligible businesses must: Operate from a physical commercial location in unincorporated Sacramento County; be compliant with applicable local laws and regulations; and demonstrate business growth and stability, innovation and/or community impact

The awards luncheon and business expo will take place as part of Capital Region Small Business Week, which is in alignment with National Small Business week. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with peers, exchange insights and celebrate the contributions of this year’s award recipients.

Event Registration:

“We know small businesses are the backbone of the local economy,” said Crystal Bethke, Director of the Sacramento County OED. “This event is an opportunity to recognize the businesses that are not only succeeding but making a meaningful difference in their communities.”

The Capital Region Small Business Awards are presented in partnership with the Sacramento County Office of Economic Development, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the City of Sacramento’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development and the California State Treasurer’s Office.
