Sacramento County is a proud sponsor of Terra Madre Americas, a three-day celebration of food, sustainability and community in downtown Sacramento. Taking place Sept. 26–28, 2025, at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and Performing Arts Theater, the event will showcase the Sacramento region’s identity as America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital while welcoming visitors, chefs, farmers and advocates from across the globe.
Hosted by Slow Food in partnership with Visit Sacramento, Terra Madre Americas is the U.S. counterpart to Slow Food’s world-renowned Terra Madre Salone del Gusto in Italy. The festival highlights diverse food traditions while exploring pressing issues such as food justice, sustainability and building resilient food systems. Attendees can experience live cooking demonstrations, interactive workshops, diverse food and beverage offerings, and thought-provoking panels—all while enjoying the Sacramento region’s thriving farm-to-fork culture.
The festival will feature more than 75 vendors in the Terra Madre Americas Marketplace, presented by UC Davis Health, offering everything from wine, spirits and coffee to cheeses, seafood and produce. Visitors can also enjoy the Confluence Stage, presented by Wilton Rancheria, with expert-led discussions on food as medicine, ecosystem restoration and strengthening social connection through food. Specialty experiences include the SMUD-powered Bistro, where celebrity chefs will present curated tasting menus, and the Enoteca Wine Room, presented by Bank of America, featuring over 100 wines from across the U.S. and Latin America. Outdoors, the celebration expands into a vibrant street festival with food trucks, local vendors and free live music on the Golden 1 Live Music Stage, adding energy to Sacramento’s downtown core.
“Sacramento County is honored to support Terra Madre Americas as it makes its home here in the Farm-to-Fork Capital. This event highlights our region’s agricultural heritage, celebrates innovation in food and sustainability, and brings together voices from across the globe. It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase the Sacramento region as a destination where community, culture and cuisine come together,” said Crystal Bethke, Director of Economic Development for Sacramento County.
“Terra Madre Americas is about shaping the future as much as celebrating the past and present,” said Phil Serna, Sacramento County Chair and First District Supervisor. “By bringing together farmers, farmworkers, chefs, policymakers and advocates, we’re ensuring our next generation inherits a food system that is more sustainable, more inclusive and more resilient.”
