​You can help make a difference in your community by sharing your comments on the draft Local Aging and Disability-Friendly Action Plan for Sacramento County which is now available for public review and comment. 

What is the Local Aging and Disability-Friendly Action Plan? 

Sacramento County is working to create a region that is livable and accessible for residents throughout their lifespan. Sacramento County joined the AARP Age-Friendly Network of States and Communities in February 2021 and in 2023 received a grant from the California Department of Aging to develop the Local Aging and Disability-Friendly Action Plan. 

The draft Action Plan is the result of 26 listening sessions with more than 500 residents with disabilities, older adults, caregivers/friends/family, providers and the Action Plan Advisory Committee. 

How to submit a comment: 

You can find t​he draft action plan and options for submitting comments at  www.agefriendlysaccounty.org. The public comment period closes on Friday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m.

Your input will help shape the final version of the Action Plan, ensuring it reflects the diverse needs of Sacramento County.​
