The Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SacDOT) will conduct full weekday closures of the Freeport Bridge between Highway 160 and South River Road throughout the month of November.

The Freeport Bridge is about a mile south of the Cosumnes River Blvd on the east side of the Sacramento River and approximately four miles north of Clarksburg on the west side of the river. The bridge connects South River Road in Yolo County with Highway 160 in Sacramento County.

SacDOT is closing the bridge for repair work. Detours will be set up during the weekday closures. The closures will run Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Nov. 2 through Nov. 30.

The bridge will reopen to traffic each evening and remain open Saturdays and Sundays.

During the closures, detour signs will direct travelers south of the project where they can cross at the Paintersville Bridge. Traveler on the east side of the Sacramento River can take River Road/Highway 160 to the Paintersville Bridge and drivers on the west side of the Sacramento River can use South River Road to the Paintersville Bridge detour.

The reconstruction cost for Freeport Bridge Deck Repair is $300,000 and is funded by the Sacramento County Road Fund. Drivers are encouraged to give themselves extra travel time due to the weekday detours.

A detour map can be viewed on the SacDOT website.
