The Planning and Environmental Review (PER) Division of the Sacramento County Community Development Department is updating the County's Infill Program to encourage housing development in the already urbanized areas of the unincorporated County, and they want to hear from you!
The public is invited to complete a survey and share their feedback on how and where to prioritize future infill development projects. This survey is available online through April 6, 2023, and should only take a few minutes to complete.
In addition to putting out a survey, PER will be attending two local events this week to educate residents about the Infill Program and give them an opportunity to share their input.
- Saturday, March 18 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Spring Cleaning Community Yard Sale – located at Pat O'Brien Community Center, Waterman Rd, Sacramento, CA 95829.
- Sunday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Carmichael Farmers' Market – located at 5750 Grant Ave, Carmichael, CA 95608.
Can't attend either of the local events this weekend? Save the date for an upcoming virtual workshop that will be held on April 6 at 6 p.m.

Sacramento County has long recognized the need for infill in its developed areas, as a means to create more livable and walkable neighborhoods, support public and active forms of transportation, and to preserve undeveloped lands. Sacramento County was awarded a State grant to fund the development of programs and policies that accelerate housing production. A portion of the grant funding is being used to update the County's existing Infill Program that was established by the Board of Supervisors in 2008.
