The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved amendments to the County’s fireworks ordinance during its March 24 meeting, significantly strengthening penalties for the use of illegal fireworks and the unauthorized use of “safe and sane” fireworks.

County Renames March 31 Holiday

The County of Sacramento Board of Supervisors, at its March 24 meeting, unanimously approved renaming the County holiday observed on March 31. Formerly recognized as Cesar E. Chavez Day, the holiday will now be known as “Sacramento County Farm Workers Appreciation Day.”
