Sacramento County Strengthens Weather Preparedness

Sacramento County is strengthening its commitment to keeping residents safe during severe weather events. The County’s Office of Emergency Services (OES) has officially renewed its StormReady designation through September 2030. StormReady is a recognition from the National Weather Service (NWS) that highlights strong emergency preparedness and communication systems.
Sacramento County OES Supports Youth Leadership Conference

Earlier this month, approximately 2,500 middle and high school students from across California gathered in Sacramento for the annual YMCA Youth & Government Conference. The event gave young people the opportunity to step into the roles of legislators, judges and civic leaders while learning how state government works.

County Activates Weather Respite for Rain and Heavy Wind

Due to the forecast of heavy wids and possible rain this week the County, in partnership with First Step Communities, is activating its weather respite tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. through Thursday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. at the North A Shelter.
