Local non-profit community-based organizations (CBOs) improve the quality of life in communities by providing educational, health and social services to citizens in need of support, beyond the services generally provided by local governments. Sacramento County recognizes the value of partnering with CBOs, and is focused on building capacity to help CBOs develop core infrastructure to:
- Effectively expand services and deepen their impact for underserved communities;
- Build and strengthen the capacity for CBOs to more easily access and better manage government funds and contracts;
- Support the elevation of CBOs that are centered on Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities;
- Evaluate services and programs and improve equitable access and outcomes to underserved populations; and
- Enhance the cultural responsiveness of service provision to traditionally underserved populations.
Sacramento County is partnering with the Institute for Social Research at Sacramento State to provide a 15-minute survey to gather input from CBOs and understand the capacities and challenges of those organizations serving local communities. By gathering input from these organizations, the County hopes to improve its partnership with CBOs to better serve the diverse populations in Sacramento.
The County is asking CBOs to take this 15-minute survey by April 19, 2024.
