Do you want a happy start to your new year? Why not adopt your new best friend or family member from the
Bradshaw Animal Shelter? Adoption fees start at $25 for rabbits and $50 for dogs and cats, and the shelter has already had its first adoption of 2022!
Sacramento County’s Bradshaw Animal Shelter's first adopted animal in 2022 is Maggie – a 3-year-old Australian Cattle Dog.
Maggie was found on Christmas Eve running through traffic. Bystanders, including a local delivery driver, were able to get her to safety. The delivery driver even took her on his route while another patron went door-to-door in the area looking for her family. With no luck, they brought Maggie to the animal shelter.
She arrived terrified but was able to find comfort with the small breed dogs at the shelter. Maggie went up for adoption and during her first meet-n-greet appointment, she immediately won over the Barr family by showing them just how sweet and affectionate she is. Maggie was adopted and is now enjoying her forever home equipped with a big backyard and lots of toys where she will receive all the love and attention she deserves.
