The
Sacramento County Water Agency (SCWA) is gearing up to begin Phase 2A construction of the Arden Service Area Pipe and Meter Installation Project. SCWA is working to fulfill a State requirement to install water meters by 2025 in areas that do not have them. Prior to construction crews starting in the spring, SCWA customers in the Phase 2A area are encouraged to attend a public meeting to learn more about the project.
SCWA will address all questions relating to the project for the upcoming 2020 construction season. You are encouraged to attend the meeting on Thursday, Jan. 16, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., in the Sierra Oaks Elementary Multi-Purpose Room at 171 Mills Road.
Phase 2A will abandon old distribution pipelines located in backyards and install approximately 3 miles of new distribution pipelines within the street right-of-way, 254 new service lines and meters, and install new or replace 40 fire hydrants and 13 backflow preventer assemblies. This project will provide several critical improvements to the Arden Service Area’s distribution system.
Phase 2A comes a year after work was completed in the first phase of the eight-phase project. Phase 1A installed nearly 3 miles of new distribution pipelines within the street right-of-way, 105 new service lines and meters, and improved water flow for 27 fire hydrants.
During the Phase 2A public meeting, the project presentation will introduce the project team, discuss the system improvements, provide status updates and a tentative schedule, and highlight expected construction activities and impacts.
If you live in or near the Phase 2A project area, and can’t make the meeting, learn more about the
