The community is invited to attend Soirée at the Shelter at the Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 6 - 9 p.m. The evening event is presented by TEAM, the shelter’s 501c3 nonprofit affiliate. Ticket sales and additional proceeds from the event will fund specialized care and rehabilitative services for Sacramento County rescue pets.
Tickets to the event include delicious hors d'oeuvres from local favorite eateries such as Paesanos and Jack’s Urban Eats, beer and wine, access to a silent auction, the opportunity to meet adoptable animals, and the first look at TEAM’s 2023 calendars featuring shelter pets. General admission tickets are $65 and tickets without alcohol included are $35.
"TEAM plays a critical role in our shelter’s life-saving efforts,” said Annette Bedsworth, Director of Bradshaw Animal Shelter. "Thanks to their fundraising and advocacy, we are fortunate to be able to provide the best possible outcomes for pets with complicated conditions.”
Formed in 1997 to improve the health, well-being, and adoption prospects of the animals at Bradshaw Animal Shelter, TEAM is celebrating its 25th anniversary of helping the region’s most vulnerable animals this year. TEAM’s primary function is to raise money for the Special Medical Needs Program, which funds specialized veterinary care and treatment for injured and neglected animals surrendered to the shelter that require medical care that the shelter is not equipped to provide. The nonprofit has expanded to offer behavioral training and rehabilitation to help pets become adoptable, funded community spay/neuter clinics, and focused on public education.
Over the years, TEAM has improved and saved thousands of animal lives. Most recently, TEAM funded a prosthetic limb for a three-legged dog; separation anxiety behavioral training for a foster dog; physical therapy for a dog who was hit by a car and unable to walk; treatment for kittens with FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), an often fatal disease; and TECA-BO (Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bulla Osteotomy) surgery for a dog who came to the shelter with a large growth on her ear.
Pets that TEAM has helped in recent years participated in a “Dogs and Dancers” themed photoshoot to create 2023 calendars and greeting cards that will be available for purchase at the event to benefit more animals in need.
Tickets to Soirée at the Shelter can be purchased via Eventbrite. The public can learn more about TEAM by visiting team4animals.org.
