Climate change is expected to bring hotter summers and more extreme heat events, the risk of wildfires, unpredictable rainfall and with it, drought and flooding. The county’s draft Climate Action Plan aims to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced in the future and to increase the county’s resiliency in adapting to these changes.
The Office of Planning and Environmental Review will review comments and create a revised draft in advance of a hearing before the county Planning Commission in early summer. The public will be able to comment on the second draft as well as attend the hearing before the county Planning Commission. A public hearing before the county Board of Supervisors is planned for the summer.
