The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, at its February 28 meeting, concurred with the County Executives' appointment of Hang Nguyen as Registrar of Voters, effective March 12, 2023.
Hang has worked for the Sacramento County Department of Voter Registration and Elections since 2012. She joined the Department as an Election Assistant and was quickly promoted to Precincts Supervisor in 2015. She applied for and was hired as Election Manager of Vote by Mail and Voting Systems & Technology in 2017, a position she held until 2019 when she was promoted to Assistant Registrar of Voters. In July 2022, she was appointed Acting Registrar of Voters, prior to the General Election.
“We are thrilled to be able to promote Hang to the position of Registrar of Voters for Sacramento County," said David Villanueva, Deputy County Executive of Administrative Services. "Hang has demonstrated a tireless work ethic and commitment to voter access and accessibility, and we are lucky to have her leading the Department of Voter Registration and Elections."
Hang is a member of the California Association of Clerks and Elections Officials and received her certification from the California Professional Election Administrator Credential program. She currently serves as a member of the Language Accessibility Advisory Committee, Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee, Disability Advisory Committee, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee.
