Sacramento International Airport (SMF) celebrated the inaugural launch of Hawaiian Airlines daily nonstop service to Maui. Maui service complements Hawaiian’s existing daily service to Honolulu.
Passengers were greeted at the gate with traditional Hawaiian leis, cookies and Hawaiian dancing before boarding the new 189-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft which includes 16 premium-class seats.
“This service addition is a testament to the popularity of Hawaii, and Maui in particular, as a destination for Sacramento-area travelers," said Sacramento County Department of Airports Director Cindy Nichol. “This is a fast-growing market for us, and we’re thrilled to have Hawaiian add this service.”
Now in its 89th year of continuous service, Hawaiian is Hawai‘i’s biggest and longest-serving airline. Hawaiian Airlines has served Sacramento International Airport since June 2002.
