Hundreds of people attended a community rally that was held at Freedom Park in North Highlands on August 6 to celebrate the 30th National Night Out. Families and children enjoyed community speakers, live music, and visited interactive exhibits and spoke with McGruff, the Crime Fighting Dog.
The event was designed to encourage residents to strengthen their sense of community, build and relationships with service providers and law enforcement and gather tips to help create safe neighborhoods.
Faith-based partners, the North Highlands Recreation and Park District, Supervisor Susan Peters, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, the Department of Community Development-Code Enforcement, and McClellan Park, and Recycling Industries were on hand to talk with local residents and share information.
The event was sponsored by Sacramento County Sheriff, Recycling Industries, McClellan Park and Sacramento County.
