This year’s National Night Out (NNO) is Tuesday, August 1, 2017. NNO is a once-a-year opportunity for citizens, members of public safety, neighborhood watch groups, civic associations, businesses, community organizations and local officials to come together in solidarity and celebrate safe neighborhoods.
District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert encourages
Sacramento County citizens to participate in a neighborhood party to strengthen relationships among residents and those who work to protect them.
Several community prosecutors will be attending events in the neighborhoods they serve, and a District Attorney information table will be available at the South Oak Park/Fruitridge Pocket Fair at Jack Davis Park. Other representatives from the office will also join their public safety colleagues and neighbors at events across the region.
Neighborhood NNO parties have a wide range of family friendly activities, including barbeques, ice cream socials and pool parties. Not only is NNO a fun night for all, it heightens awareness about crime prevention and generates community support and participation in local anti-crime efforts.
For more information about neighborhood events, please contact your local law enforcement agency, homeowner or neighborhood association.
