WHAT: Sacramento County is pleased to announce that funding for a proposed 127 unit new housing development has been awarded by the California Department of Housing and Community Development. The No Place Like Home program funding, totaling $14.5 million in new money for Sacramento, will provide 50 permanent supportive housing units for individuals and families experiencing homelessness and who are living with a serious mental illness. The remaining units will be a blend of permanent supportive housing and workforce housing. The new apartment complex will be built on Stockton Boulevard in south Sacramento with a blend of one-, two- and three-bedroom units.

BACKGROUND RESOURCES: Sacramento County Board of Supervisors voted last December to partner with Mutual Housing California to apply for the funds available under the $2 billion Proposition 2 ballot measure approved by California voters in 2018. The housing development will include dedicated units for individuals and families experiencing homelessness who are living with a serious mental illness.
