2023
Sacramento County Named #2 Best Public Fleet
The 2023 100 Best Fleets were announced by the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) last week and Sacramento County was named the number two best public fleet! The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas program recognizes peak-performing public and commercial fleet operations. This program identifies and encourages the ever-increasing levels of performance improvement and innovation within the fleet industry.
2022
Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award
The Sacramento County Department of General Services' Contracts & Purchasing Services Division has received its 19th award from the National Procurement Institute's Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP). Established in 1995, the AEP program is designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. This prestigious annual award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on criteria designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the procurement organization.
Outstanding Community Improvement Project Award - Sacramento County Water Agency
In April, the American Society of Civil Engineers presented the Sacramento County Water Agency (SCWA) with the Outstanding Community Improvement Project Award in the State of California. The award honored the Phase 2A portion of the Arden
Service Area Pipe and Meter Installation Project. For the past four years, SCWA has been working to improve the water system in the Arden Area. The Arden Service Area Pipe and Meter Installation Project (Project) is installing approximately 38 miles of new distribution pipelines, and nearly 3000 new water meters.

National Procurement Institute Achievement of Excellence
The Sacramento County Department of General Services' Contract & Purchasing Services Division will receive their 18th award From the National Procurement Institute for the 26th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement®. The award is designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership attributes. The criterion is modified each year to reflect changes in the governmental procurement profession to confirm consummate professionalism of staff, the best level of customer service, and continually improvement of processes and business operations.
Sacramento Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator Awarded CESA Gold Award
Lynn Pesely, SMRC coordinator has been awarded the California Emergency Services Association (CESA) Gold Award for her work with the March 2020 County Emergency Operations Center activation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her knowledge, skills, and leadership reflects the highest standards and traditions of the public safety community and proven herself a distinguished leader in the field. She will be honored during the May 2021 virtual CESA Annual Emergency Management Training and Conference.

From the National Procurement Institute, the Sacramento County Department of General Services' Contract & Purchasing Services Division will receive their 16th award with the 25th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® special edition trophy for 2020. The award is designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership attributes. The criterion is modified each year to reflect changes in the governmental procurement profession to confirm consummate professionalism of staff, the best level of customer service, and continually improvement of processes and business operations.
