Love is in the air at Bradshaw Animal Shelter! With so many dogs and cats looking for true love, the animal shelter is holding a 1-day special Valentine’s Day adoption event on Wednesday, February 14. From 12 pm until 6 pm, adoptions for dogs and cats are only $14.
And, for shelter pets who have been waiting more than 30 days to find that special someone, adoption fees are waived. That’s right: there is no adoption fee to take home pets that have been at the shelter for a month or longer. (After all, you can’t buy love!)
Let’s get to know a few of the pups who have been waiting the longest to find love:
Meet Rodeo.
Rodeo is 1 year, 5 months old and weighs about 82 lbs. His animal ID is A843522.

His idea of a perfect Valentine’s Day date would be: dancing in the rain while a professional photographer takes “documentary style” photos that he can use to decorate the accent wall in his kennel.
On Valentine’s Day, he’s hoping to find: someone who appreciates the mid-century modern aesthetic as much as he does.
His favorite love song: “Love Song” by The Cure.
Meet Lionel.
Lionel is 2 years, 3 months old and weighs about 90 lbs. His animal ID is A847134.

Her idea of a perfect Valentine’s Day date would be: an afternoon of receiving back-to-back gifts that she has been not-so-subtly hinting that she wants for the past three weeks.
On Valentine’s Day, she’s hoping to find: someone with a Costco membership so she can stock up on Reddi-Wip.
Her favorite love song: “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion.
Meet Lucius.
Lucius is 1 year, 3 months old and weighs about 54 lbs. His animal ID is A846367.
Days spent waiting at the shelter to find love: 42.
His idea of a perfect Valentine’s Day date would be: showing off everything he knows (get comfortable, because he knows a lot of things) and then asking you about your day.
On Valentine’s Day, he’s hoping to find: someone really patient.
His favorite love song: “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton. (He’s full of surprises!)
