Spring is nearly here! That means it’s time for spring cleaning. Join Sacramento County and the American River Parkway Foundation on Saturday, April 11, 2015 for this year’s Annual Earth Day Clean Up. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and do some good for the community. It also helps preserve the Parkway for future generations to enjoy. Removing trash and debris helps prevent pollutants from entering the watershed, which harm the wildlife in Sacramento County. The Spring Clean Up is great for volunteers of all ages including high school students who need to complete community volunteer hours.
This year’s cleanup sites include Discovery Park, Northgate, Paradise Beach, Howe Avenue, Watt Avenue, River Bend Park, Ancil Hoffman Park, El Manto and Sunrise. Volunteers are required to register and anyone under 18 must bring a completed parental/guardian consent form in order to participate. For more information and registration, please visit the American River Parkway Foundation website.
