The Sacramento County Office of Emergency Services is downgrading the evacuation notice to an evacuation advisory for Tyler Island residents.
Though residents are being allowed back into the area there is still a potential for them to be asked to evacuate again. Repairs to the levee are still in progress and appear to be working. However, the repairs will not truly be tested until the next storm moves through the area.
Residents are strongly advised to take any precautionary actions they feel appropriate to protect person or property.
When returning home, residents should be aware of road closures and should not attempt to drive through water on the roads. Flood dangers do not end when the water begins to recede. To learn some tips on how to stay safe and healthy when returning home, read Returning Home After a Flood.
Residents are advised to watch SacOES.org as well as SacramentoOES on Facebook and Twitter for updates. For information on Sacramento County roadway closures, call 311.
