If you are interested in working for a dynamic organization that serves the residents and businesses of Sacramento County, here is an overview to help you navigate the application process:
The first step is to find a job that you qualify for: look for jobs you might qualify for and you are interested in at
www.SacCountyJobs.net.
Read through the job descriptions and minimum requirements carefully, and complete the application and supplemental questions online. (Please note, resumes will not be accepted.)
Computers are available to use at the Employment Services Office at 700 H Street, Room 4667, Sacramento, CA 95814, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If qualifications are met, applications move to the examination phase; if qualifications are not met, applicants are notified by email after the final filing date.
There are various types of examinations given, and generally candidates will receive their exam scores within eight weeks via email. Once the candidates are ranked, a list of eligible candidates is created to provide departments a pool of qualified candidates to interview. Interviews are based on departments’ vacancies so you may hear from us right away, or it may be some time before you are contacted.
After being hired, you will serve a probation period lasting from six months up to a year before becoming a permanent employee.
Note: If you have a disability and need special accommodations, please notify the Employment Services Division prior to the final filing date.
