If you've ever lost track of garbage day or raced outside after hearing the garbage truck, you're in luck: Residents of the unincorporated area who receive County Waste Management and Recycling services can sign up for a customized electronic reminder service called “ReCollect”. This new widget tool makes it easy to access information about garbage, recycling, and green waste pickup schedules.
Available from the County’s website, the award-winning "ReCollect" widget allows residents to receive a handy calendar reminder via email or a call to either a cell or home phone. Customers can “tailor make” the time of their garbage day reminder, whether it’s 6pm the day before, or 7am the day of collections. Reminders also include what is scheduled to be picked up that week – garbage, recycling and/or green waste. And, if there is critical waste management information that needs to get out quickly, ReCollect subscribers will be the first to know.
"ReCollect reminders are a convenient tool for our residents, and are wonderful examples of how the County can serve residents in new and innovative ways," said Bradley J. Hudson, Sacramento County Executive. "We're always looking to be more responsive to residents' needs, and this is a simple way to share information with a large number of our customers.”
This new service will reduce call volumes, while enriching customer service and response times. “This allows us significant service improvements to the more than 154,000 customers we service every week” stated Paul Philleo, Director of the Department of Waste Management and Recycling. “It demonstrates our commitment to continual improvement”.
ReCollect reminders – along with a quick and easy way to check your pickup schedule – are available on the County website, www.sacgreenteam.com. Although, the County will continue to make printed schedules available to all residents.
