Sacramento County held a Memorial Service and Flag Folding Ceremony at Sacramento International Airport this morning in honor of the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The memorial consisted of a flag folding during a moment of silence at Terminal B and Terminal A.
Participating in the ceremony were the TSA – Sacramento International Airport Honor Guard, the Sacramento County Sheriff Honor Guard, and the Coast Guard Honor Guard, representing the working relationship dedicated to protecting the American public.
By a joint resolution approved December 18, 2001 (Public Law 107-89), Congress designated September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day," and by Public Law 111-13, approved April 21, 2009, Congress requested the observance of September 11 as an annually recognized "National Day of Service and Remembrance."
Additionally, all County flags are to be flown half-staff.
