This weekend, the Amgen Tour of California, America’s largest and most prestigious professional cycling race will challenge the world's top teams in Sacramento. On May 13-14, the Women’s Stage 3 and 4, and on May 14, the Men’s Overall Start will be hosted in Sacramento County.

To kick off the event, the Sacramento Sports Commission will host the Amgen Tour of California Official Team Presentation at 5:00 p.m. during the May 12 Concerts in the Park at Cesar Chavez Park. The event is free to the public and all ages are welcome to attend.

May 13, 2017 - Women's Stage 3
- The Women’s Stage 3 race on May 13, begins mid-morning through the Elk Grove Regional Park, heads west and then south to the Sacramento River and then north alongside Sacramento County’s Delta region to finish at the Capitol building in downtown Sacramento in the early afternoon.
May 14, 2017 - Women's Stage 4
- Starting at 12:30 p.m., the 90 Minute Capitol Circuit Race for the Women’s Stage 4 race on May 14, will be a fast and technical course that encompasses the Capitol building and will include 20 laps of the circuit. Beginning shortly after, the men depart the course to begin their seven-day event.
May 14, 2017 – Men’s Overall Stage Start
- The Overall Start Stage on May 14, will include the conclusion of the women’s race and the men’s opening stage for their seven-day competition. Heading south out of downtown Sacramento into the California Delta region to the southern tip of Sacramento County, then back up to downtown Sacramento. The race will conclude with 104 miles traveled, two sprints and three laps around the State Capitol building area.
Participate in May is Bike Month by riding your bike to all the Tour of California events. Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates is operating a free bike valet sponsored by Sacramento County.

The Amgen Breakaway from Heart DiseaseTM Women's Race empowered with SRAM May 11-14 will cover 256.6 miles through South Lake Tahoe, Elk Grove and Sacramento, concluding as the men’s race gets underway.
