Taking it to the streets for free spay/neuter – in the 95660 ZIP Code. Using grant money from PetSmart Charities®, the County Animal Shelter is expanding its community spay/neuter campaign. Residents of the 95660, 95823, and 95828 Zips can get a free fix for their Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas, and the mixes of the two breeds.
The service also includes a rabies vaccination and a one year license. Providing a rabies vaccination is critical for pet health and public safety, and providing a one year license makes it easier to return lost pets back to their homes.
Getting a voucher is easy: online at www.sacanimal.org or by calling 874-FIXX. ZIP Code residents can also obtain a voucher in person at the shelter. This is a limited time offer and getting the word out is critical. Animal Shelter volunteers will be going door to door in the neighborhoods distributing information about the program.
The County Animal Shelter is open Wednesday through Friday from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from Noon–4:30 p.m. and is closed Monday and Tuesday and most holidays. The shelter is located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, one mile south of Highway 50.
