The North Area Recovery Station (NARS) offers free household products to all residents and companies through its Reuse Closet. Customers can find products in the Reuse Closet such as car and lawn care products, paint, and household cleaners – all free of charge.
The Sacramento County Waste Management and Recycling NARS facility has been giving out free products for over a decade now, and new materials are put out at every hour, but often don’t last long.
“The Reuse Program does more than just offer free products. It reduces our disposal costs and these savings can be passed along to our customers,” said Ken Pereira, Supervising Waste Management Specialist.
Residents of unincorporated Sacramento County, City of Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove and Folsom can bring products for the Reuse Closet to Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Centers. Containers must be original, and must be at least half-full and have a readable label to be put on the shelf.
The Reuse Closet at the NARS facility is located at 4450 Roseville Road in North Highlands and is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.
