Sacramento County Child Support Services (DCSS) commends dads who support the well-being and stability of their children. Fatherhood involvement benefits not just the child or the parent, but society as a whole. Being a father is a wonderful privilege with tremendous rewards and DCSS offers services to help be a partner through the journey of fatherhood.
“Children with involved fathers thrive and do better in school and relationships,” said Terrie Porter, Director of Child Support Services. “Sacramento County Child Support Services encourages fathers to participate in their children’s lives and to support their future. We understand that worrying about your children, your relationships and money are major life stressors and navigating the complex legal system can be very challenging. But you don’t have to do it alone, we are here to help.”
Each family is unique and DCSS tailors their assistance to specific circumstances and needs. For example, you might need help with genetic testing, establishing court orders, modifying child support amounts or facilitating the collection of payments. DCSS can also help if you’ve lost your job, your driver’s license or passport has been suspended or you owe back support payments. Services are always free and DCSS is here to help.
This Father’s Day, DCSS is sharing
"Your Support Matters," a free online resource with the latest information on child support, ways to pay, support groups, success stories from dads who have worked with DCSS and much more. Sacramento News and Review will share ‘Your Support Matters’ in their publication later this year.
DCSS seeks to assist fathers navigating the child support system, knowing it can be a complicated process. Supporting your children will shape their future!
