Celebrate the kick-off to the 2020 census in Sacramento County Wednesday, Apr. 10 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria (828 I St). Sacramento’s Complete Count Committee, led by Sacramento County and Sacramento Region Community Foundation, has been working with hundreds of community leaders, community organizations and local government agencies since October 2018 to develop outreach strategies reflecting the diversity of our county. The Complete Count Committee is working to ensure that Sacramento County is counted in 2020 and that every member of our community participates in the 2020 Census.
The Complete Count Committee is holding this kick-off event to build more awareness about the 2020 Census planning and outreach efforts. At the Kick-Off, Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA) will host a job fair providing information and assistance for those interested in working for the U.S. Census. Several other local employers, including Sacramento County, are also participating. Interested participants will be able to apply at the job fair.
All attendees will be encouraged to wear translation headsets as there will be simultaneous translations in six languages and some speakers will be speaking a language other than English to provide a shared, inclusive experience for our diverse community.
Event Schedule:
Event begins 9:00 a.m. (coffee and pastries available)
Speaker Presentations 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.
Job Fair 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
SacRT has partnered with Sacramento County Complete Count Committee to provide free rides by bus or light rail for event-day participants. Print out
this flyer or take a screenshot of it with your phone to show if a fare inspection officer requests it. The flyers are valid from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10 from anywhere in the county to Cesar Chavez Park, which is across the street from the library.
We urge everyone to get involved and to ensure that all persons in Sacramento County are counted. We count, you count, BE COUNTED!
