Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna (District 1) presented a resolution in support of the campaign aimed at reducing deaths of African American children by 10 to 20 percent by the year 2020 in Sacramento County. Supervisor Serna shared with the Steering Committee promising results over the past six years of the community-driven movement aimed at reducing black infant mortality.
“The fact that Sacramento County is successfully saving young lives is resonating at a national level,” said Supervisor Serna. “It’s clear we’re perceived as a model to address disparate childhood deaths in the African American community, and I couldn’t be more proud of our effort,” he continued.
