Sacramento County’s
Community Review Commission (CRC) invites the public to participate in its Aug. 16 meeting at 6 p.m. to hear a list of questions/topics for the Sheriff’s Office. Topics or questions may include the Office’s policies, practices or procedures and will be forwarded to the Sheriff’s Office for a response and presentation at the Commission’s September meeting.
Additional meeting topics include an update to stakeholders on the status of recruitment for the County’s Inspector General and a presentation on the Mays Consent Decree.
The Community Review Commission was established to improve public transparency and accountability with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and provide greater community interaction with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
“The foundation of our work as the Commission is community engagement,” said CRC Chair Khaim Morton. “In order for the Commission to provide the kind of analysis and oversight of the Sheriff’s Office that will effect real change, we have to hear from the community.
“I and my fellow Commissioners really want the public to participate in our meetings, to hear about our work and provide feedback based on their lived experiences.”
Stakeholders are invited to participate and provide input to the Commission in the meeting in any of the following ways:
- In person and in Board Chambers, 700 H Street, First floor, Sacramento.
