Does the thought of owning and operating a small business appeal to you? Perhaps you love to cook and have courted the idea of opening your own restaurant. Where do you begin?
Call Linzie Fukushima who manages Sacramento County’s Small Business Liaison Program (SBLP), 916- 874-7414.
“We hope to connect with and assist potential small business owners early in the process in order to streamline it and to make them aware of multiple services—some free and some low-cost—that are currently available to them.”
Linzie Fukushima explained the reasons for SBLP’s inception in 2016.
Starting a small business is complicated. Multiple aspects, from the business plan to the marketing plan, from permitting a facility to compliance with other government regulations, require attention and planning to secure financing and success.
There are also multiple government levels and agencies that will impact the business’ roll-out.
Linzie assists potential owners in navigating this process.
For example, procuring financing depends on a solid business plan. Linzie can guide you toward the right resources to strengthen your plan.
Nonprofits are eager to support many small businesses. Linzie can connect you with their representatives.
“Most of the calls and questions I respond to are random. Sometimes a question appears to be a small detail, but I am happy to respond to those because we want businesses to succeed, and these details can slow down a project if they are not addressed correctly up front.”
Linzie is available to clients for the long haul. “If I have not heard from a client in a while, I will contact them just to check in and see if I can help them again. Quite often, he or she will say, ‘I’m glad you called. Can you tell me how to move forward regarding this component?’”
