The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will begin Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 Revised Recommended Budget hearings on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 9:30 a.m. in Board Chambers in the Sacramento County Administration Building, located at 700 H Street, Sacramento, 95814. If necessary, hearings will continue on Sept. 5 and 6 at the same time and location.
The hearing schedule, in order (may be subject to change):
- IHSS Public Authority Budget Deliberation and Approval
- Introduction by the County Executive to the FY 2024-25 Revised Recommended Budget
- Public Comment
- Board Deliberation and Approval to Revisions of the Approved Recommended Budget
The numbers in the recommended budget change between June and September when the County receives new information, including the impact of the State Budget and updated revenue totals. Because of that new information, the
Revised Recommended Budget comes back to the Board for review and adoption in September.
Included in those increases was funding to Health Services of $28.4 million primarily for Behavioral Health Services; an additional $5.7 million to Child, Family and Adult Services primarily for Child Protective Services; an increase of $4.2 million to Human Assistance for childcare payments to CalWORKS participants and a position in Veterans Services; an additional $3.9 million to the Sheriff’s Office for a mobile command vehicle, required software and body-worn cameras; an increase of $3.4 million to Correctional Health for a Medication Assisted Treatment Program, pharmacy positions and a new electronic health record system; and an additional $1 million to Homeless Services and Housing to fund beds at a planned Safe Stay Community and three new positions, among others.
