Sacramento County will vote on December 8 to add $5,000 to the reward being offered to help find the person or persons responsible for the recent shootings of two Grant Union High School students. The shootings took place on Friday, November 13 at 3:45 p.m. near Silver Eagle Road and Mabel Street, about a mile away from the Grant campus. (Note: the Board approved the reward on December 8.)
Community groups in the Del Paso Heights area have collected $15,000 in reward money leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible parties. The additional $5,000 will bring the reward to more than 38,000.
“We want to do everything we can to encourage someone to come forward with vital information,” said Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Phil Serna. “It is our sincere hope that Sacramento County’s contribution will enhance the incentive and lead to a break in the case.”
It has been more than a week since the shooting and the Sacramento Police Department continues to ask anyone with information to step forward.
