The Board of Supervisors, at its July 9 meeting, concurred with the County Executive’s appointment of Joshua Green as Director of General Services, effective July 29, 2024.
“The County of Sacramento is fortunate to have the opportunity to appoint Joshua Green as the new Director of General Services,” said Sylvester Fadal, Deputy County Executive for Administrative Services. “Mr. Green’s enthusiasm, education and expertise is expected to benefit the County’s Department of General Services and the County overall.”
Mr. Green has spent more than 17 years serving public service agencies, and has experience in the areas of capital projects; development and implementation of fleet replacement plans; improvement and maintenance of more than $460 million in assets including one million square feet of facility space; contract negotiation of real estate, lease, service and bargaining agreements; development and implementation of short and long-range plans; and policy and procedure development for a variety of government functions.
He currently serves as Vice President, Government and Community Affairs for Sky River Casino and has held that position since 2023.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Green was the CEO and General Manager for the Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD), a California Special District that provides government services to an estimated 205,000 residents in south Sacramento County, from 2019 through 2023. Before taking on the role of CEO, Mr. Green was the Cosumnes CSD Parks and Recreation Administrator.
In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Green possesses a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northeastern State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Studies: Business and Political Science from Eastern Oregon University. Mr. Green has been an adjunct professor with Sacramento State University since 2023. Additionally, Mr. Green chairs the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is a Board Member on the Sacramento Metro Chamber, and volunteers as a basketball coach at Cosumnes Oaks High School.
