Veterans Services Office Celebrates New Location

Sacramento County’s Veterans Services Office (VSO) hosted an open house on Aug. 6 to celebrate its new location at 3075 Prospect Park Drive, Suite 170, in Rancho Cordova.

The event featured remarks, proclamations from the City of Rancho Cordova and a keynote address from Matthew Ceccato, chair of the Sacramento County Veteran Advisory Commission and a U.S. Army veteran. Guests also had an opportunity to tour the new VSO and connect with County staff.

The new office is conveniently located in Rancho Cordova near the former Mather Air Force Base, a location with a strong connection to the region’s veteran community. The area is also home to Mather Veterans Village, which provides housing and services for veterans.

The Sacramento County VSO team of dedicated professionals provides knowledgeable and compassionate guidance to veterans and their families, regardless of where they live, to help them navigate the benefits they have earned through their service. VSO provides:

  • Assistance preparing, submitting and presenting claims for veterans’ benefits
  • Education about U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs benefits and eligibility
  • Assistance accessing California Department of Veterans Affairs programs
  • Information and assistance for qualified veterans’ dependents and family members
  • Help identifying other benefit programs for which veterans and their families may be eligible

In 2025, more than 7,000 veterans received VSO assistance with 4,500 claims, resulting in $11.5 million in retroactive disability compensation and $9.1 million in recurring monthly disability payments.

“Our mission is to serve all veterans and their families with respect, dignity and compassion,” said Rochelle Arnold, the County’s Veterans Service Officer.

The former Veterans Services Office location on Research Drive is now closed. The new office at 3075 Prospect Park Drive is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Veterans and their families can call (916) 874-6811 for assistance.
