Media Advisory: Evacuation Warning for Wilton Area

Published on January 08, 2023

Beginning at 9:00 a.m., on Sunday, January 8, the Sacramento County Office of Emergency Services is warning those in the Wilton area to leave the area, now. Rising water may spill over onto the nearest roadways and cut off access to leave the area. Last weekend, exit routes flooded quickly for residents leaving Wilton, so we are urging residents to get out now while roads are still clear; don’t wait for an evacuation order.

The road boundaries for the Wilton area evacuation warning:

  • Northbound: Jackson Rd/Hwy 16
  • Eastbound: Grant Line Rd, south to Bond Rd, south to Hwy 99
  • Southbound: Arno Rd, west to Alta Mesa Rd, south to Twin Cities Rd, west to Clay Station Rd
  • Westbound: Clay Station Rd, north about 4 miles, then northwest to Jackson Rd/Hwy 16

Evacuation Center

An evacuation center has been established at Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation, 9040 High Tech Ct, Elk Grove, CA 95758.

Review the evacuation guide on the Sacramento Ready website and during an evacuation, keep in mind the 5 P’s:

  • People
  • Pets
  • Prescriptions
  • Photos
  • Papers

Residents should not drive through standing water – turn around, don’t drown!

The situation is dynamic. Residents are advised to watch SacOES.org as well as Sacramento County on Facebook and Twitter for updates. For information on roadway closures, call Sacramento County 3-1-1.
