In-Home Support Services Public Authority

The County of Sacramento Board of Supervisors established the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority as part of a continuum to help elderly and/or disabled adults and disabled children ("consumers") remain in their own homes with the support of in-home care (from "caregivers"). Volunteer opportunities include clerical work, assisting with IHSS new caregiver orientation and providing support to the IHSS consumer and caregiver education team. Those with the right computer skills may be able to aid in agency website updating or work on newsletter design. Hours available for volunteer activities vary and the agency has a limited ability to accommodate those who wish to volunteer on some weeknights. For more information on volunteer opportunities, please visit IHSSPA website or send an email to IHSS-PA-Education@saccounty.gov.
